Let’s talk about the best meal to detox the liver. It’s important to keep in mind that a liver detox is very different from a liver cleanse.
Liver “cleanses” won’t help you clean your liver in any significant way. But supporting your natural detoxification process may be beneficial.
Your liver has two phases of detoxification that help get rid of toxins. The goal of this detoxification process is to turn poisons into harmless water-soluble particles.
Some people have a genetic problem with particular detoxification enzymes. This can make you more susceptible to damage from certain toxins. A DNA test can give you the information you need to avoid a certain toxin and better support detoxification.
Fixing your diet is the best way to support liver detoxification. You don’t need a short-term detox or cleanse. You need to make certain foods that support the liver a part of your regular diet.
The best meal for liver detox:
• Eggs cooked with onions, garlic, and sea salt
• Cruciferous vegetables
• Kefir with walnuts and low-carb, no-sugar chocolate chips
• Add herbs to your meal like thyme, sage, oregano, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and rosemary
